WHQL Pre-certification
The Microsoft Logo Program is designed to ensure compatibility between third-party products and Microsoft operating systems, and enhance customer confidence in the Windows experience. It involves a process of a series of tests designed to assess whether third-party products meet Microsoft's standards of reliability, stability, and quality.
The Microsoft "Designed for Windows" logo identifies hardware and software products that have been designed and tested to meet Microsoft standards for compatibility with:
- Windows 98
- Windows 2000
- Windows NT 4.0
- Windows XP
- Windows 2003
- Windows Vista
- Windows 7
- Windows Server 2008
Products displaying the logo have passed rigorous testing that assures they are easy to use, stable, and take advantage of the new features of Microsoft Windows operating systems. Nytec, Inc., an independent testing facility, provides the pre-testing required by Microsoft and processes the product submission. The product is then verified by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL).
Nytec also supports the following device logo programs:
